This traditional wine competition continues its mission of awarding medals to outstanding west coast wines.
The 25th West Coast Wine Competition concluded on April 20, 2007 in Santa Rosa, CA, with a field of over 1,700 entries spanning from wineries located in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Baja California, British Columbia, Australia, and New Zealand. Judges awarded a total of 17 Double Gold, 194 Gold, 502 Silver, and 456 Bronze medals.
Entry wines are selected from an experienced pool of North American wine-industry insiders with backgrounds in winemaking, wine education, and wine retailing.
As noted by West Coast Wine Competition Chairman Graham Parnell, "We had a smooth competition this year with a record number of entries and judges. As with the wine industry, this competition is growing and going from success to success. We look forward to an even better year in 2008."
