This traditional wine competition continues its mission of awarding medals to outstanding west coast wines.  Entrants may submit wines produced in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Baja, California, British Columbia in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.  New this year, we've opened the competition to wines from Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and the wine region of South America.  The West Coast Wine Competition will commence on April 28 and end on April 30, 2010 in Rohnert Park, CA.

An esteemed panel of judges include top journalists, winemakers, distributors, restaurant sommeliers, and other industry elite as well as media and marketers of wine, many of whom make direct use of awards results in their purchasing and marketing decisions. This year's panel includes representatives from:

  • BevMo!
  • Pacific Market
  • University of California, Davis, Department of Viticulture and Enology
  • The Sacramento Bee
  • Lodi Winegrape Commission
  • The Petaluma Post
  • The Pacific Club
  • and others

Winning an award in WCWC affords you both a unique selling proposition in your retail room and adds talking points in your retail room. Remember, only wines from the above noted regions are able to enter. A win here shows how your wine really stacks up against others produced in the same areas.

In 2009, judges awarded a total of 46 Double Gold, 60 Gold, 390 Silver and 539 Bronze medals from a field of 1,500 entries.
