Federal Express (FedEx)

United Parcel Service (UPS)

Federal Express (FedEx) Wine Shipping ProtocolLicensed bonded wineries may ship via FedEx, to another licensee. FedEx holds a fleet license to ship into New York State. Any previous difficulties shipping FedEx ground to IEWC should be resolved by following the procedures described here.To become registered as a bonafide shipper, wineries need to first enroll with Fedex. The enrollment process has to be initiated by the local FedEx Field Account Executive for your respective winery. To find who this contact is, simply call 800-GO-FEDEX (800-463-3339), press zero when hearing the menu and ask the customer service representative to give you the voice mail of the Field Account Executive for your zip code. Before shipping can begin, the enrollment process has to be completed, approved and confirmed by the Account Executive and the FedEx Legal Department (usually a 2 week process). A brief summary is as follows:

A copy of the Winery License, and empty packaging has to be submitted for testing and approved (unless on the list below)
An agreement is generated from FedEX Legal for the customer to sign and return.

Special stickers are then provided by FedEx to the winery. Automation needs to also be implemented. (Software or FedEx.com is sufficient) State regulations are constantly updating. Please keep in mind each account is responsible for following all FedEx terms & conditions with shipping.
Following is a list of approved packaging vendors approved for wine shipments with FedEx. For more specific instructions on compliance with your shipping forms with FedEx, please click here.Approved Packaging: Current Approved Packaging Vendors Approved for Expanded
